Faith Formation

Learning about our faith, asking questions and exploring is what helps our faith to grow.  It brings us into closer relationship with God and one another.  That is why we offer a variety of programs and learning opportunities such as

  • Bible Study

  • Book Study

  • Faith finders for our youth on Sunday mornings.  Children from kindergarten (age 4) to 8th grade are invited downstairs.  There they will explore their faith through both study and hands on activities.  We are currently using the "Seasons of the Spirit" multi-age curriculum.

  • Confirmation classes for 8th through 10th graders

  • Faith Formation events for Middle School, Senior High and Adults throughout the year.  Event dates and times can be found in the weekly e-news "The Spirit".

  • Special Worship Services

More information about upcoming studies and events can be found in the weekly "Spirit" and weekly worship bulletins.

Faith Finders

At the beginning of every worship service we worship together.  There is a Children's Message when the children gather for a story.  Afterward, 4 year olds through 8th graders have a Faith Finders program that is coordinated by Pam Sullivan (Ms. Pam).  She and a volunteer will lead the children downstairs to learn about Bible stories and explore our faith.  We invite babies and toddlers to remain in worship with their parents, knowing we have a room that has sound and glass doors where there are rockers, a changing table and toys for little ones.  This way families may use the room if they find moving about is a better option and can still hear and see worship.  High School students are invited to stay in worship.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a time of exploration where  youth, grades 8 through 10, learn about their faith.  At our baptism, we receive an outward and visible sign of God's love for us as others make promises to raise us in a life of faith.  Through our confirmation, we claim our faith as our own.  If you have a child that would like to participate, please speak to the Pastor.
