Faith Formation

Learning about our faith, asking questions and exploring is what helps our faith to grow.  It brings us into closer relationship with god and one another.  That is why we offer a variety of programs and learning opportunities such as:

  • Bible Study

  • Book Study

  • Faith Finders for our youth on Sunday mornings.  Children from kindergarten (age 4) to 8th grade are invited downstairs.  there they will explore their faith through both study and hands on activities.  We are currently using the "Seasons of the Spirit" multi-age curriculum.

  • Confirmation classes for 8th through 10th graders.

  • Faith Formation events for Junior High, Senior High and Adults throughout the year.  Event dates and times can be found in the weekly e-news and our monthly newsletter, the Lantern.

  • Special Worship services

Fellowship

Enjoy a cup of fair trade coffee and other treats after worship on Sundays. All are invited to a time of conversation and refreshment together in the fellowship hall, also called the O'Connor Vestry (OCV), or outside during July and August when we meet at the Little River Church. This is a wonderful time to meet new friends and to learn more of the ministries of the church through conversation, bulletin boards, and the flyers in the communication rounder.

The Women’s Book Club gathers one Saturday a month at 9 am for coffee and conversation at individuals' homes.

The Men’s Breakfast group meets each Sunday from 8 to 9 AM for coffee, donuts, and lively conversation.

The Ladies Union meets the second Wednesday of the month, September through June, for crafting, lunch and a short business meeting. The Ladies Union also prepares for and hosts the annual Fall Fair benefiting youth camping scholarships for HortonCenter, the UCC New Hampshire Conference Campsite.

Music Ministry

The choir gathers on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm and Sunday mornings at 9 am for prayer and rehearsal. The choir leads regularly in worship September through May. During June, July and August, choir members and musicians offer their talents in worship through solos, small ensembles and special musical offerings. All with a heart for praising God through music are encouraged to join the choir.

Love and Loss Team

The Love and Loss Team is a group of ushers and greeters that work in conjunction with the Pastor during weddings and celebrations of life. The Love and Loss Team is present on the day of the funeral to help greet and direct people as well as help the Pastor with any last minute things that may arise. It is just one way that we help to comfort and welcome people as they travel through life's journeys.

Summer Camping at Horton Center

Children and youth are encouraged to participate in summer camping programs sponsored by the New Hampshire Conference of the United Church of Christ. Week long camps and adventure programs are a spiritual highlight for many of our children and youth. For more information, please contact our church office.
