Task Group Responsibilities:
Youth:
The Youth task group leader is responsible for youth church activities outside of Sunday School, particularly for the Junior and Senior High School ages, but also for all of the children of the church.
The Youth task group leader:
Recruits, with the Minister of Family Life, leaders for youth activities, forms a task group, and leads meetings.
Insures that programs for youth groups are prepared and activated, including, but not limited to:
Senior High Mission Trip to Texas and Mexico, and the fundraising programs for this trip:
Apple pies at Thanksgiving, Christmas tree pickups, Twelfth Night Dinner, and hams at Easter;
Junior High participation in the Walk for Hunger and visiting the Heifer Project Farm;
Involvement in worship service through ushering and greeting, reading Scripture, and serving communion;
participation in the Alternative Christmas Market.
Meets with Minister of Family Life to review programs and problems.
Develops a vision, together with the Minister of Family Life and the task group, that can be clearly and specifically stated to the youth leaders.
Supports the next Council person who oversees this task area, passes on all relevant documents to the next task area person, and is available for consultation.
