Pastoral Care
Task Group Responsibilities:
Pastoral Care:
The Council person for Pastoral Care should organize a task group to provide networks that care for, support, and provide information to those in need within the church community. Its purpose is to create and maintain a “spirit” of care throughout the Congregation where it is natural and simple to extend the hand of care. The goal is to create networks than can deal with special needs as they arise and to inform people who can help with those needs.
Groups that fall under the umbrella of Pastoral Care include:
Parish Nurse
Hospitality
Caring Cooks
The Pastoral Care task person should support the successor to the Pastoral Care position, pass on all relevant documents to the next task person, and be available for consultation.
Prayer Chain: Determines individual to organize the telephone prayer chain and revises it once or twice a year. Revised copies published in church newsletter and made available in vestry.
