Worship
As stated in the Constitution, the Worship Task Group acts as an “advisory body to the Pastor in the planning and conducting of worship services for the Congregation. They shall seek, in mutual love and openness, to develop orders of worship that most appropriately fit the life of this Congregation.” The Task Group shall meet before Lent and Christmas and as needed.
The Council Worship Leader delegates tasks and responsibilities so that all members of the congregation will have an opportunity to serve.

The responsibilities of this group include, but are not limited to:
Greeters - Have greeters for each Sunday morning, with involvement of all age groups, including Sunday school classes, youth groups, and confirmands.
Ushers - Have two ushers for each Sunday morning. These two, along with the two greeters, will make four ushers for each Sunday from September through June. Also needed are two ushers for each Sunday service in July and August, with participation from all age groups. And finally, four ushers are needed for each Christmas Eve service.
Flowers - Order flowers for each Sunday morning, and list the donor in the Order of Worship. Order flowers for special occasions, including Easter and Christmas. Organize dispersal of bouquets to shut-ins after the service when possible.
Communion - Designate a Communion Steward who will organize a schedule whereby five Council members serve and cleanup each month, and who will prepare the table, juice, and bread before communion.
Choir - Have the Music Director and a member of the choir work participate in the Worship task group planning process.
Pulpit supply - Find someone to lead the worship services when the Pastor(s) are not here. Notify the treasurer prior to that Sunday to have the check ($150) ready. Let the visiting minister know his or her responsibilities. Send a thank you after the service.
Christmas - Organize a special task group in the spring to plan the upcoming Christmas services. See that ten wreaths for windows and front doors are ordered from the Boy Scouts. See that large wreaths are made. See that all wreaths, greens, window candles, Advent wreath and candles, and Christmas Eve candle holders and special candles are in place at the proper time. Organize Christmas Eve services with Pastor(s) and ushers.
Easter - Organize Holy Week services with Pastor(s): Ash Wednesday in Prayer Room with ashes, communion, centering, at 7PM. Maundy Thursday with tables for communion at 7 or 7:30 PM. Notice in Order of Worship of schedule of Good Friday Vigil and early Easter services.
Other - Care of altar cloth and candles
Lectionary Readers: Finds readers for the Scripture on Sunday mornings.
Other: Submits monthly articles to church newsletter. Contacts the local newspaper with worship schedules. Assigns individual (usually a choir member) to post hymns on the hymn board.
