Call to Worship
One: Come into this place as you are: come as friend or stranger; come as seeker or teacher; come as old or young; come as lost or found; come as you are. You are the person God loves, and gives life as the Good Shepherd does: healing, holding, loving, feeding, tending, nurturing God. Come as you are to worship, and be folded into God's green pastures.
*Hymn 66 (Red) For the Beauty of the Earth
Unison Opening Prayer: Waiting God, welcome us home. Nurturing God, call our names. Nourishing God, set a table before us. Tending God, lead us in your way. Companion God, go ahead of us. Liberating God, protect us. Welcoming God, save us. Amen
Psalm 23 (Black) p. 633 (Sung responsively)
Children's Message
*Hymn 247 (Black) My Shepherd Is the Living God
Readings from Scripture Acts 2:42-47
42They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. 44All who believed were together and had all things in common; 45they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, 47praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.
